North San Diego Business Chamber in partnership with National University System Institute of Research brings you a forum offering information and forecasting by industry to prepare your business for the future. Threats and opportunities for business in 2016 will be the key presentation points and how each industry impacts business differently.
Attendees will receive a takeaway on the subject put together by the NUSIPR.
Housing and Water
- In what ways will San Diego’s housing market (prices, affordability, location) impact employers?
- What home buying trends will impact other business (i.e. millennial housing preferences aging in place, trend toward urbanism)
- Public being told rates going up because of infrastructure costs. What defines infrastructure and how does that impact businesses and the community?
- What is being done to factor in a possible increase in water due to El Nino?
- What are the long term outlook in respect to water rates and reliability?
- What trends in water management (i.e. desalination’s role, investments in conservation, greater reliance on recycled water) could impact San Diego Businesses?

Newland Real Estate Group
Ms. Brandin is currently responsible for directing the planning and entitlement activities for Newland Sierra, LLC, a future 2,000 acre master plan community in North County. She oversees all aspects of land development from strategic planning and entitlement processing, and management of a multi-disciplinary internal and external consultant team comprised of planning, engineering, financial and legal professionals.

Deputy General Manager
San Diego County Water Authority
Frank Belock, Jr. serves as Deputy General Manager of the Water Authority. Mr. Belock joined the Water Authority in August 2007. Before joining the Water Authority, Mr. Belock was employed by the Parsons Corporation serving in the capacity of Area Manager for the San Diego office. Mr. Belock is a California registered professional civil engineer. Prior to his employment with Parsons, he served as Water Department Director and Director of Engineering and Capital Projects for the City of San Diego.

Chairman, Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians
Bo Mazzetti grew up and lives on the Rincon Reservation, and has served as tribal chairman since 2007. Mazzetti also serves as chairman of the San Luis Rey Indian Water Authority, a consortium of five tribes engaged in political and legal activities to secure water resources.
