Economic Development & Advocacy Meeting

The Economic Development & Advocacy Advisory Council works with elected officials, community leaders, Chamber Members, topic experts, and other organizations to shape policies that help promote business creation, sustainability, and growth.

Areas of focus include

Employment
Business and Industry Retention
Housing and Living Costs
Environmental Regulations, and
Workforce Development

Advisory Council Members are responsible for discussing and deciding, by vote, the official position adopted by the Chamber regarding the different public issues that affect businesses and workers in San Diego.

All Chamber Members and their employees are invited to join the meetings and participate in the discussion.

I. Welcome and Introductions (5 min)

II. Chamber Updates (5 min)

III. Elected Office Legislative Updates (20-24 min)

a) 2 minutes each representative report

b) Q and A at end of all reports (10 min)

IV. Breakout Groups

a) Each group will come up with 10 topics that would interest them enough to come to a Business Summit. (15 mins)

b) Each group to discuss what topics are of most importance to them for Economic Development Advisory Council meetings (10 mins)

V. Advisory Council Member Updates (5 min)

VI. Action Recap/Adjourn/Networking
