Come to the DIY Ribbon Microphone Building Workshop at San Diego City College on Saturday, May 14, 10am - 5pm. Students and regional professionals from the community will spend the day building their own world-class AUSTIN Ribbon Microphone (www.DiyRibbonMic.com).
This is the same class run at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, UNLV, the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in AZ, and many others.

The 6-hour workshop is $299. Tools and instructors will be there to help everyone build the mic according to the plans and videos below.

At this hands-on workshop, you will bend the metal mesh windscreen into shape, cut and corrugate thin ribbon foil, and solder the electronics together to produce a hand-built, heirloom recording tool that you will be proud to own and use for decades.

This is an intermediate-level class. Previous experience soldering and using hand tools is great, but there will be instructors available to guide everyone through each step.

The class is limited to 15 students.
