San Diego County Water Authority's Citizen's Water Academy - North County Class - October 2017
Award-winning Citizen’s Water Academy will be offered in North County in Fall 2017
The Water Authority is now accepting applications for its Fall 2017 Citizens Water Academy program, which educates current and future leaders in San Diego County about water issues in our region.
Participants visit key water facilities and learn firsthand from several members of the Water Authority’s leadership team about critical water issues affecting our region through activities, discussions, and thought-provoking material covering water history, supply diversification strategies, supply planning, and facilities.
The academy includes two classroom sessions, along with one day set aside for facilities tour. For the first time, beginning with the Fall 2017 class, the Water Authority will hold the academy in North San Diego County. The dates for the Fall class are:
· Tuesday, October 10: 1-4:30 p.m.
· Wednesday, October 18: 1-4:30 p.m.
· Friday, October 27: 7:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. (includes facilities tour)
Participants must commit to attending each session and tour. There is no tuition, fee, or charge to apply or attend the academy; however, there may be a reportable value, as food, beverages, and other items will be provided.
The application period for the Fall 2017 class of the Citizens Water Academy is now open. Application deadline is September 5, 2017.
The Academy is open to future and emerging leaders in the San Diego region. The selection process is competitive and acceptance is not guaranteed.
