San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum Hosts First Ever “STEMposium”
Escondido, CA.– San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is delighted to host its first-ever learning symposium event, “For the Love of Learning: STEMposium,” on Thursday, December 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This full-day event, sponsored by the San Diego Foundation, will highlight the importance of early childhood education and the profound impact STEM education can have on children later in life. Featured discussions will include an in-depth look at STEM foundational fluencies, the role of social-emotional learning and play in STEM education, the importance of equity and access, and the power of partnerships in early childhood education.
“Early childhood education and STEM are pivotal to our mission at San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum,” said Krishna Kabra, CEO of San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum. “When the community invests in STEM and social-emotional learning, we lay the groundwork for countless skills children will need as they get older and become contributing members of the community.”
Featured speakers include the Founder of Kid Spark Education, Paul Eichen; Superintendent of EUSD, Luis Ibarra; Staff Engineer at General Atomics, Debra Roy; and Educational Consultant Kristi Mraz.
“Our goal is for participants to walk away feeling energized about early childhood education. We want them to see the value in educating children beyond the classroom and recognize the best ways to set children up for success,” added Krishna.
Pre-registration is required for this event and includes a full day of learning from experts in the field, lunch, a museum tour, and a plenary networking session.
