PRWeek Recognizes Matthew Parnell of Sony Electronics on its 40 Under 40 List

Matthew Parnell began his career as a financial analyst for Accenture, moved to Sony in a similar role, but then discovered what would become his passion when he became a PR specialist with Sony Home Audio and Mobile electronics group in 2008. Since then he has ascended the ladder at Sony.

He currently leads all PR and marketing efforts at Sony Digital Imaging as well as community/influencer efforts across all of Sony. Many of the initiatives Parnell developed and launched for Digital Imaging and other departments have become key components of Sony U.S.’ efforts, while those he developed around community and influencer marketing became global standards for Sony.

The partnerships he forged with The Associated Press, Getty Images and USA Today helped highlight the importance of visual media. One recent accomplishment in a long list was the launch of The Lowdown, a YouTube series that presents Sony products through the eyes of influential creators. In just a few months, it has already generated over two million views.

Thanks in part to his work for Sony Digital Imaging, Parnell became an enthusiastic amateur photographer, with his three kids happy to serve as models.
