Catalent Pharma - San Diego is looking to hire an Associate Project Manager who is responsible for activities associated with drug product development and cGMP Manufacturing activities, in addition to developing and managing business relationships, for major pharmaceutical clients.

The Role (daily Responsibilities)
  • Support projects that may reside within multiple business lines or sites as assigned.
  • Support project management with client communication, inquiries, and responses. May act as primary point of contact for Select Services and other small scope projects.
  • Draft project timelines with guidance and notify stakeholders of upcoming milestones. Monitor internal project actions and communications. May be directly responsible for timelines and milestones associated with Select Service Projects.
  • Participate in project meetings with client and internal teams, draft meeting agendas, and record meeting minutes.
  • As applicable, work with supervisor/project lead to forecast and bill Select Service Projects.
  • As applicable, notify science lead and sales team once Select Service projects are nearing completion to ensure additional business opportunities are pursued.
  • Support Project Management as needed with proposals and new business opportunities.
    • Review signed proposals of assigned projects and ensure scope is accurate.
    • As needed, assist Project Management in initiating proposal requests for project scope changes throughout the life of the project.
    • Assist in review of proposals and scope changes prior to distribution to the client.
  • Assist Project Management in organizing and planning all varieties of client visits including development or manufacturing observation, project kick-off meetings, business review meetings, and prospective client visits. Participate in visits as applicable.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams, instilling trust and confidence.
The Candidate (requirements)
  • Bachelor of Science degree, from an accredited university, preferably in Chemistry or related scientific discipline. Minimum of one year of pharmaceutical industry experience, with exposure to project management, product development and cGMP manufacturing, and business development. Experience with a CMO or CRO environment highly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak effectively before small groups of colleagues and day to day to interactions.
  • Collaborative team member with a customer service focused mindset who creates customer loyalty during all aspects of project management.
  • Strong ownership and accountability with the ability to deal effectively with shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving. Possess a high degree of interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to gain confidence and build strong relationships internally and externally to align on project goals.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
