When my first child was four months old however\, I was forced to make a choice and left the law firm world to start my solo practice.\n\n\n\nIn addition to being discriminated against for having a child\, I also knew my salary was less than others doing the same job. After approaching my firm for a moderate raise\, I only received half of what was requested. When asked why\, they said I was already paid too much.
