Existing home prices are at all-time highs and the production of new homes and apartments is lagging\, exacerbating the shortage of homes in this demand starved market.  \n\n\n\nThis housing crisis is having economic impacts on consumers\, businesses and home buyers regardless of whether they are first time buyers\, or move down buyers.   \n\n \n\nTopics of discussion for this breakfast will include:\n\n\n	       Regional housing needs today and tomorrow\n	       Housing impact on businesses and consumers\n	       Is YOUR city meeting its area housing commitments?\n	       Factors driving the cost of housing up and future threats\n	       Forecasted growth in population driving more housing needs\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\n\nGlen Hopkins\,\n\nVice President Research and Development\, HP\n\nGlen leads the Advanced Technology Platform & Solutions organization for HP\, and is also the Print Chief Technologist.\n\n He joined HP in 1985 as a Design Engineer in the Corvallis\, Oregon Division and progressed through various management jobs including project and department manager. In 1996\, Glen became the IC Wafer Fab Manager for inkjet print cartridges in Singapore until 2000. Upon return to the United States\, Glen became the R&D Lab Manager for inkjet print cartridge design in San Diego until 2005. From 2006   2015\, Glen managed the Printing Technology Platforms & Media Solutions business. Glen has a B.S. in Chemistry from California State University\, Chico\, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and M.S. in Physical Chemistry from Oregon State University.  Glen resides in San Diego\, California\n\n\n\n\n\nBorre Winckel\, \n\nPresident & Chief Executive Officer\, Building Industry Association \n\nBorre Winckel emerged in the industry as a land developer in the Temecula area\, after a banking career with Chase Manhattan in NYC. Before joining the BIA of San Diego in 2008\, Winckel served as Executive Director of the Riverside County BIA\, where he led the industry's participation in rewriting the County's General Plan\, its Transportation corridors project and a new Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan. Following the Great Recession\, Winckel brought the San Diego BIA to financial stability\, increased membership\, and pioneered new legislative advocacy programs\, such as "J.O.I.N" (Jumpstart Our Industry Now) and "H.Y.M." (Housing You Matters).\n\n\n\n\n\nRita Brandin\n\nSenior Vice President and Development Director\, Newland Real Estate Group\n\nMs. Brandin's career in real estate spans 30 years beginning in Atlanta\, Georgia where she worked for John Portman & Associates in retail construction and subsequently moved into asset management.  Following the Portman Companies\, she worked for the Rouse Company for 17 years managing and developing regional shopping centers across the country.  Ms. Brandin relocated to Las Vegas in 1999 to direct the $450 million dollar redevelopment and expansion of a 2 million square-foot regional mall on the Las Vegas Strip known as The Fashion Show.
