DESCRIPTION:A well-written handbook can be a helpful tool in assisting with an organization's day-to-day activities\, as well as an effective legal defense in case of litigation\, but a poorly written handbook that contains "legalese" language that is confusing or limits an employer's flexibility or offers out-of-date or un-followed policies can be an employer's worst enemy. This workshop offers a structured process for developing and/or reviewing a handbook.\n\n\n\n    Topics covered in this course include: the pros and cons of employee handbooks\; common pitfalls\; resources available for developing handbooks\; and legal issues that should be covered\n\n\n\nThis course has been pre-approved for California credits towards PHR-CA and SPHR-CA.
