Tell us about your company.

I'm approaching my second year anniversary of owning Edible San Diego, a dream come true. Year One was all about learning as much as I could learn about the company, our readers, advertisers and our region. Planning we did that year helped us make 2018 count with strategic growth. Although Edible San Diego has been in business for ten years in San Diego County, it's still new to lots of people. We publish 30,000+ magazines every two month and run a very active website, social media accounts and email communications. Our mission is inviting all San Diego County residents and visitors into a conversation about living well through fresh local and artisan foods.

What products or services does your business provide?

We are unique in San Diego County in gathering and presenting current, reliable, useful and inspiring information about buying, cooking and eating fresh local and artisan foods. Our beloved bi-monthly magazine, extremely active digital platforms and sponsorships provide people with resources available nowhere else.

What was the most memorable or successful moment in your business' history?

When we came in second in a national contest last year for one of our cover designs. When half of our website visits came through smartphones this summer. Each time someone tells us how much they love our magazine.

Tell us an interesting fact about your business.

We did a strategic planning meeting along Mission Bay this year at a partner resort and found the environs and menu to be very, very inspiring!

What tips/advice can you offer that is related to your business' industry?

Know your competition and your customers, and partner, partner, partner!
