Tell us about your company.

What products or services does your business provide?

Buchalter provides a wide range of legal services, including health care, litigation prosecution and defense, commercial finance, labor and employment advice and counsel, corporate advising, energy & natural resources, intellectual property, privacy and data security, and real estate among many other practice areas and industry specialties. The San Diego office of Buchalter is home to a fast growing group of attorneys specializing in labor and employment law.

 

What was the most memorable or successful moment in your business' history?

Within five months of opening the San Diego office at Buchalter and while still operating in temporary office space, our labor and employment team secured a complete dismissal at trial on behalf of a large construction company.

 

Tell us an interesting fact about your business.

Buchalter attorneys represent a professional fastpitch softball league, as well as one of head coaches who recently appeared in the Women’s College World Series.

 

What tips/advice can you offer that is related to your business' industry?

California now requires any company with at least five employees to provide two hours of sexual harassment prevention training to all managerial employees and one hour of sexual harassment prevention training to all other employees. Employers have until December 31, 2019 to complete the trainings, which must be given every two years thereafter.

 

Do you have any upcoming events or information you want your fellow Chamber Members and the community to know about?

Buchalter San Diego hosts an annual employment law seminar in the fall to discuss hot topics in the law.
